How do we move from understanding society's challenges to creating meaningful change?

Connect, Co-Design, and Pitch is back for 2027, creating space for people from different sectors, disciplines and communities to come together around society's biggest challenges and turn shared concerns into collaborative action. Through a series of facilitated workshops, participants will build new partnerships, explore different perspectives and develop ideas with the potential to lead to future research, innovation and real-world impact. No project idea is required, just curiosity, collaboration and a willingness to work with others.

Participants can choose between two pathways: Grassroots, focused on local and regional challenges, or Blue Sky, which explores ambitious national and international opportunities. Both pathways are centred around four key challenge areas: ethical AI and responsible digital societies, health inequalities, polarisation and social cohesion, and migration, mobility and belonging.

The programme is part of Shape Tomorrow Together, Leeds Institute for Societal Futures' framework for bringing people together around society's biggest challenges and turning ideas into action.

An online information webinar will take place on 4 November 2026, with Expressions of Interest opening afterwards.
