How can we create a more equal and accessible pathway into the Bar of England and Wales?

Alex Batesmith, Associate Professor in Legal Professions at the School of Law, at the University of Leeds, discusses his work with the Bar Diversity Hub and its role in creating a more equal and accessible pathway into the Bar of England and Wales. 
 
Aligned with the Leeds Institute for Societal Futures’ mission to address societal challenges through research, collaboration and real-world impact, the Hub brings together legal professionals, universities, regulators and third-sector organisations to tackle barriers to diversity, inclusion and access within the legal profession. 
 
Through mentoring, outreach, research and public engagement, the Bar Diversity Hub aims to create greater opportunities for underrepresented groups, contribute to a more equitable justice system and strengthen public confidence in the legal profession.
